Update: Barack Ferrazzano took first place among the Chicago law firms that participated in the second annual Battle of the Books: Law Firms edition book drive by Bernie’s Book Bank. Together, contributing law firms collected a grand total of 6,575 quality books for at-risk children in the Chicagoland area. This means approximately 548 kids in Chicago will each receive 12 books throughout the year.
Barack Ferrazzano collected the equivalent of 2,853 books via physical and monetary donations over the course of September 2018. Barack Ferrazzano alone contributed to about 43% of the total donations, taking first place among the law firms that participated — ensuring approximately 237 at-risk children in Chicago each will receive 12 books over the next calendar year.

Barack Ferrazzano is once again honored to participate in Battle of the Books: Law Firms, the annual book drive held by Bernie’s Book Bank, the leading provider of quality books to at-risk children in the Chicagoland area. Bernie’s Book Bank collects, processes and distributes quality new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children, and Battle of the Books is a unique method of promoting this work through a friendly, inter-law firm book collecting competition.
In last year’s competition, Barack Ferrazzano collected the equivalent of 3,300+ books via either physical or monetary donations over the course of September 2017. The Firm contributed about 9% of the total donations for the competition, placing it 3rd among last years’ 14 participants. In total, Bernie’s Book Bank received more than 34,000 quality books in the inaugural competition, allowing 2,863 at-risk kids in Chicago to each receive 12 books over the course of the past year. The Firm is looking forward to another opportunity to give back to the Chicago community.
