Overview
Barack Ferrazzano is pleased to announce four of our attorneys, Abdul Mitha, Emi Maia Nam, Justin Podjasek and Jack Snyder, have become partners in the Firm.
Abdul Mitha is a member of the Firm's Financial Institutions Group. He regularly represents banks and financial institutions in connection with mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt offerings and other strategic actions. In addition, Abdul has experience with Islamic finance and works closely with clients on their continuing compliance with general corporate and federal securities laws, including corporate governance and disclosure matters. Abdul earned his J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School.
Emi Maia Nam is part of the Firm's Motor Vehicle Group, the Corporate & Securities Group, and the Fashion, Luxury & Retail Group. She has extensive experience representing both domestic and foreign companies on a wide variety of legal matters. Within the Motor Vehicle practice, Maia concentrates in motor vehicle franchise and dealer network transactional matters. Within the Corporate & Securities and Fashion, Luxury & Retail practices, Maia focuses on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic growth transactions, and general corporate counsel in a wide range of business issues. Prior to graduating from the University of Chicago Law School, Maia was an archaeologist excavating in Egypt and Turkey and involved in museum curatorial work in art and antiquities. Maia is proficient in spoken Japanese.
Justin Podjasek is part of the Firm's Real Estate Group. His legal experience includes a broad range of real estate matters, with an emphasis on financing, development, construction, leasing, acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures. Justin is well versed in representing clients with regards to contractual assignments which assist in the development of industrial facilities and negotiating lines of credit. Justin earned his J.D. at the University of Chicago Law School.
Jack Snyder is a member of both the Firm's Litigation Group and the Motor Vehicle Group where he focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation encompassing a broad range of matters. He came directly to Barack Ferrazzano after graduating from the University of Chicago Law School. Prior to attending law school Jack worked for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Office of Legislative Affairs where he advised senior departmental officials on legislative and communications strategy and the Senate confirmation process.
