BFKN is pleased to announce that Nathan Q. Rugg has been appointed as Chair of the Chicago Bar Association (“CBA”) Bankruptcy and Reorganization Committee for the 2022-2023 calendar. Nathan is the chair of BFKN’s Bankruptcy & Creditor Rights Group. He has extensive experience in all aspects of business reorganizations, workouts, and bankruptcies, inside and outside of court.

The CBA Bankruptcy and Reorganization Committee considers matters relating to the United States Bankruptcy Code (the “Code”) and its administration, including the rules of bankruptcy procedure and the local bankruptcy rules. Equal attention is given to problems arising under the commercial reorganization provisions and the consumer provisions of the Code. The educational programs sponsored by the Committee address all types of proceedings under the Code, dealings with the United States Trustee, receiverships, assignments for the benefit of creditors, compositions and extensions, insolvencies and liquidations. The Committee serves several roles important to the practice of law in its areas of focus, including facilitating and developing conversations on important issues in the restructuring arena through committee meetings, public panel discussions, and seminars.
