Update: Barack Ferrazzano was one of 14 law firms in Chicago that participated — 10 of which are Am Law 100 firms — in Bernie’s Book Bank inaugural Battle of the Books: Law Firms edition book drive. Together, the 14 law firms collected more than 34,000 quality books for at-risk children in the Chicagoland area. That means there are 2,863 kids in Chicago who each will receive 12 books throughout the next year.
Barack Ferrazzano collected the equivalent of 3,300+ books via physical and monetary donations from September 1-30, 2017. The Firm alone contributed to about 9% of the total donations placing it 3rd among the 14 Chicago law firms that participated — ensuring approximately 280 at-risk children in Chicago each will receive 12 books over the next calendar year.

Barack Ferrazzano is honored to participate in Battle of the Books: Law Firms, the inaugural law firm book drive by Bernie's Book Bank, benefiting at-risk children in the Chicagoland area through a friendly competition between law firms to collect the most books.
Bernie’s Book Bank, the leading provider of quality books to at-risk children in the Chicagoland area, collects, processes and distributes quality new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout Chicagoland.
In its first 12 months of operation, Bernie’s Book Bank collected, processed and distributed 140,000 children’s books. By the end of 2012, the number of children’s books Bernie’s Book Bank had collected, processed and distributed reached 1 million. In 2017, Bernie's Book Bank projects to reach 10 million and will be on target to distribute 4 million books annually to over 333,000 at-risk children in Chicagoland.
