Overview
Barack Ferrazzano represented Getaway – a wellness hospitality company – in a deal that secured $22.5 million in Series B financing. The round was led by a controlled affiliate of Starwood Capital Group, with continued support from L Catterton and other existing shareholders. The Series B follows a $15 million Series A round led by L Catterton, one of the world's largest consumer investment funds, in early 2017.
Getaway is a unique hospitality company providing mindful escapes to tiny nature-surrounded cabins within two hours of major cities that offer guests the ability to “unplug” from the stress of daily life, reset, and embrace simple pleasures. Minimalist design-focused cabins nestled in perfectly situated, serene environments encourage guests to recharge and spend time on what really matters — their relationships with themselves and their loved ones.
Starwood Capital Group, a global private investment firm with a core focus on real estate, energy infrastructure, and other related strategies, will lend its skill and experience within the hospitality sector to further Getaway’s growth and impact. This new round of funding will allow Getaway to continue expansion and its mission of providing overworked and over-connected people a restorative mindful escape. Getaway has already announced two new locations opening outside of Los Angeles and Dallas later this summer.
