Overview
Louis Vuitton has collaborated with acclaimed director Spike Lee for his Cannes Film Festival wardrobe. This year, Lee is serving as president of the Cannes Competition jury.
From a black suit with red contrasting buttons to his opening night number - a bright fuchsia suit and matching sunglasses - his festival fashion has been grabbing headlines. Lee has been wearing Louis Vuitton all week and turned heads in his opening night fuchsia suit and matching sunglasses designed by Louis Vuitton's artistic director of menswear, Virgil Abloh. Lee's fuchsia suit paid tribute to Lee's late mother. "But let's get to the suit - it's not pink, it's fuchsia, and there's a story behind it. That was my late mother's favorite color." Lee said of teacher Jacqueline Carroll Lee, who passed away from cancer when he was young. "It was a tribute to my mother."
Lee and Abloh worked together through conception, sketches and fittings in New York and Paris to create two weeks' worth of looks for him and wife Tonya Lewis Lee. "I just think that when you're hot you gotta keep it going. I hope that it's not a one and done." Lee stated of hoping to continue working with the house.
BFKN served as lead counsel to Louis Vuitton in connection with its collaboration with Spike Lee. Barack Ferrazzano's team was led by Corporate & Securities and Fashion, Luxury & Retail Group chair Daniel L. Dominguez, and attorney Kaitlyn E. Kelly.
