BFKN is pleased to announce that William J. Barrett, senior member of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditor Rights practice, has been selected for the 2024 Pro Bono & Public Service Award of the Chicago Bar Association and Foundation. Bill and seven other honorees were selected for their remarkable pro bono and public service achievements. Bill's commitment to serving others and promoting access to justice is reflected by his work with the Bankruptcy Court’s Pro Bono Panel and Help Desk and with Credit Abuse Resistance Education (CARE), an organization that promotes financial literacy to young adults. The awards will be held on Friday, July 19 at the Hilton Chicago.

Bill has almost 40 years of experience in bankruptcy litigation. He is the senior member of BFKN’s Bankruptcy & Creditor Rights Group and focuses his practice on representing secured debt holders and landlords in Chapter 11 cases and other insolvency proceedings.
