BFKN is pleased to announce that Financial Institutions Group partner Abdul R. Mitha has been selected as a 2025 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow. Additionally, Financial Institutions Group associate Zoe Xiuha Uvin and Litigation Group associate Audrey Springer-Wilson have been chosen as 2025 LCLD Pathfinders. These prestigious programs are designed to support the development of diverse talent within the legal industry, equipping participants with the skills and connections necessary to advance into leadership roles.
Launched in 2011, LCLD’s landmark Fellows Program is tailored for high-potential, mid-career attorneys at LCLD Member organizations. The program provides participants with professional and personal development opportunities, leadership training, and relationship-building with LCLD’s network of leaders in law firms and corporate legal departments. Similarly, the Pathfinders Program, launched in 2015, is designed for early-career attorneys and focuses on foundational leadership skills, career development strategies, and networking opportunities to help participants build a strong professional trajectory.
About the Attorneys
Abdul Mitha has more than 10 years of experience advising financial institutions and fintechs on capital-raising transactions, mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation, bank-fintech partnerships, and corporate governance matters. Abdul is conscientious, amiable, detail-oriented, and laser-focused on his clients’ needs. Abdul frequently advises private and publicly traded companies on all facets of the M&A process, from crafting letters of intent and managing due diligence investigations through the negotiation of definitive merger agreements and the regulatory approval process.
Zoe Uvin focuses her practice on representing both public and privately-held financial institutions in mergers and acquisitions and capital-raising transactions. She also advises financial institutions in securities regulation, lending, corporate governance, bank regulatory, and general corporate matters. Clients appreciate that Zoe is responsive, efficient, and dedicated to client service.
Audrey Springer-WIlson is an excellent attorney who is skilled at legal research, writing, and advocacy. Her experience litigating pro bono matters during law school and working for federal judges, together with her increasing experience and responsibility at BFKN, makes her a valuable asset to the litigation team. As an associate in BFKN’s Litigation Group, Audrey works on a wide range of complex litigation matters, including intellectual property litigation, motor vehicle franchise disputes, consumer banking claims, and employment litigation.
