Overview
BFKN is pleased to announce the addition of Sydney Latimore to the Employment and Litigation Groups.
Sydney assists clients across a wide array of industries, including technology, financial services, and private equity, with navigating complex litigation matters. She drafts and files motions, prepares witnesses for depositions and trial, and conducts extensive legal research to support case strategies. Her experience includes navigating complex procedural and substantive legal issues. Prior to joining BFKN, Sydney served as a law clerk for Chief Judge Virginia Kendall of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, where she drafted judicial opinions on employment discrimination, breach of contract, and fiduciary duty cases. Before that, Sydney was a litigation associate at Winston & Strawn, where she focused on written advocacy and discovery in complex commercial litigation, defamation, and product liability/mass tort cases.
We are thrilled that Sydney selected BFKN as her new professional home. Sydney’s already-impressive experience, inclusive of her federal clerkship, enhances our existing group of talented commercial litigators and adds meaningfully to the Employment Group. Her versatility, evidenced by her placement in both practice groups, offers a tremendous added value to the firm and its clients. — Allison N. Powers, Chair, Employment Group
Employment Group
BFKN’s Employment Group helps clients comply with myriad, ever-changing, and developing labor and employment laws. Our attorneys are skilled at handling routine and complex employment disputes, offering strategic counsel and strong advocacy across a wide range of industries. Whether facing complicated litigation, compliance issues, an internal investigation, or the employment aspects of a transaction, our team has a strong track record of success in achieving favorable outcomes for our clients in these areas.
Litigation Group
Our firm has assembled a group of highly skilled trial lawyers – seasoned partners and well-trained associates – who represent clients both forcefully and efficiently. Unlike some litigators, who spend years engaging in expensive discovery only to recommend settlement on the eve of trial, we are always ready to try cases when necessary but strive to achieve business resolutions early and economically when appropriate.
