Helena leads attorney development initiatives at BFKN, leveraging her extensive experience in legal talent management, professional development, and coaching to support attorneys at all stages of their careers. Her strategy aligns with BFKN’s vision to continue growing organically by helping attorneys charter their own unique career path. Using a collaborative and holistic approach, Helena focuses on empowering attorneys to own their success and deliver the highest quality client service.
Helena has a strong background in talent strategy, training, and mentorship. She has designed and facilitated programs on feedback, communication, leadership, delegation, and substantive legal skills. She has also managed performance review processes, including business planning, feedback sessions, and career development conversations. In her role, Helena works closely with firm leadership to enhance attorney growth, integrate new hires, and align talent initiatives with the firm's strategic objectives.
Prior to joining BFKN, Helena was the North America Senior Talent Manager at Baker McKenzie, where she oversaw talent development for more than 130 attorneys across multiple practice areas. She also served as Director of Professional Development at Johnson & Bell and held career services leadership roles at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. Earlier in her career, Helena practiced as a litigation associate, representing clients in commercial, retail, transportation, and employment matters.
