Overview
Karyn advises organizations in all stages and industries on privacy and data security requirements, navigating the complicated and ever-changing legal landscape to help clients develop compliance strategies and tools. Within that field, she uses her understanding of the interaction of technology, data governance, and privacy regulation to assist clients with developing and implementing operational solutions that are uniquely tailored to the organization’s operations, resources, and needs.
Karyn devotes a significant portion of her practice to keeping clients abreast of developments in the areas of cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection on both a national and international level. In this capacity, she advises her clients on privacy law compliance, developing internal and external privacy and data protection policies, and developing data sharing/data protection agreements. She works to understand the client’s business so that solutions and best practices can be right-sized, taking into account the organization’s resources and needs.
Karyn also represents clients in drafting and negotiating agreements relating to the development and use of technology tools and transactions, including Software as a Service (SaaS), cloud contracting and other technology outsourcing arrangements. She has experience on both the customer and vendor side of matters, allowing her to stay updated on market trends and effectively advise companies on how to anticipate and manage potential risks.
Clients of all sizes in a range of industries also look to Karyn as general corporate legal counsel, where she advises individuals and entities on a broad range of corporate matters, including complex contract negotiation, compliance and enforcement, and general operational matters.
