With over 20 years of real estate finance experience, Kim focuses her practice on borrower-side financing matters. She makes understanding clients’ businesses and internal processes a priority and leads with a practical and creative approach. Her clients also benefit from her keen understanding of their challenges given her background as a general counsel.

Her experience includes structuring and strategizing transactions across various property types, including office, medical office, senior and assisted living, retail, restaurants, affordable and market-rate multifamily housing, hotels, industrial facilities, manufacturing and distribution sites, storage, data centers, and vacant land.
Prior to joining BFKN, Kim was a real estate partner at DLA Piper LLP, where she represented clients on sophisticated real estate matters, including financing transactions for borrowers and sponsors, acquisitions and dispositions, ground and build-to-suit leases, joint ventures, and development projects. She also has prior experience serving as general counsel of a Chicago real estate developer, which has allowed her to bring business acumen as additional value to her clients.
