Overview
The firm is deeply saddened to share the news of former BFKN partner Lynne Mapes-Riordan’s death on February 20, 2023, after valiantly battling ALS.
Lynne joined BFKN in 1994, first as an associate attorney and then advancing to partner and Co-Chair of our Compensation & Employment Group until she retired after being diagnosed with ALS in January 2021. Lynne was always the most supportive, caring and committed BFKN partner, providing excellent advice to her many clients and helping to initiate many important programs and policies at BFKN.
Lynne became a runner later in her life, as well as an avid cyclist, and she traveled throughout the world with her husband Dan and her family and friends. Lynne was also a woman of great faith. She completed education and training that would have permitted her to become a deacon in the Roman Catholic Church, as soon as it permitted women in that role.
Our firm, and the clients she served, are better for Lynne’s efforts and tireless dedication, and she will be deeply missed by all of us. We will remember her always and have her family in our hearts forever.
